Medicine Hat, the fourth stop on The Adventures of Buddy Williams book tour, was just what the doctor ordered. All eyes were on the cover of Book II: FallGently as many passers-by stopped to remark on how it reminded them of their own experiences out on the fall prairie.
A warm thank you to the good people of Coles Books in Medicine Hat Mall for offering up a great spot in the middle of all the action.
Thank you also to Brandy Mulder for allowing the use of this photo of Jordan Mulder, who stopped in to have his own copies of FallGently and SummerWild (which mom had previously ordered online) signed by the author. Little Cara Mulder was too shy for the camera, but proclaimed she would crack the covers of both of her brother’s books once she knew how to read well enough. Another Adventures of Buddy Williams fan in the making.
Dear Mr. Budd (Sorry, it just feels weird for me to call you Ken), I’ve just had a phone call from my sister-in-law Tanis Garden in Medicine Hat. She sends your hug for me via satellite. I’m so pleased she took the time to see you, and that you had such a nice chat. You were very generous in your comments about me. Thanks for the autograph for me and for my grand-nephew Truman. Sorry he wasn’t able to get to the signing — he was likely at hockey practice or something. I gave him the first two books in the series for his birthday this past April and I’ve purchased the last two books for his 12th birthday next Spring. Hope your tour is successful and not too exhausting. All the best, Linda Garden
